Membership Information

The Central Kentucky Apartment Association is made up of Community Members, Independent Rental Owners,  and Associate Members :

  • Our Community Members is composed of apartment communities - such as student housing, senior housing, and basic multifamily apartments.
  • Our Independent Rental Owners are those who have their own money invested into property or properties and oversee single family housing or multifamily housing.
  • Our Associate Members are those companies who have products or services that they provide to the multifamily housing industry. Examples of the types of companies who join as Associate members of the CKAA include landscaping companies, appliance providers, flooring companies, exterminators, fitness supply companies, construction companies, furniture rental companies and the list could go on and on.

Community Member

This member type is composed of apartment communities such as student housing, senior housing, and basic multifamily apartments. Membership dues for these members are as follows: 0 to 30 units - $80 per year, 31 or more units $3.08 per unit. There is a one-time processing fee for new membership of $50.00.

Independent Rental Owner

Independent Rental Owners consist of someone who has their own money invested into a property (with or without partners) and oversees multifamily or single family housing.  An IRO is actively involved in the management of their properties.  An IRO is not defined by a specific unit count and dues will be based on the total unit count whether in one location or multiple locations.  Membership dues for these members are as follows: 0 to 30 units - $80 per year, 31 or more units $3.08 per unit. There is a one-time processing fee for new membership of $50.00.

Associate Member

An Associate Member is any member who provides products/services to the multifamily housing industry. Annual dues are $375 with a one-time member processing fee of $50.00 for new members.
